9 Simple Rules That Will Make Your Life Better

When we came into this world, we did not get an instruction manual on how to live a happy life, but if you think about it for a moment, you realize that we don’t really need one. Life can be much simpler than we think it is, and the only thing we need to do to be happy is to remember these rules. These are my own guidelines to life, and remind me each and every day how I should be looking at the world and at life.

Before your say something bad, Think about those who can’t talk and say something back.

Before you complain about the taste or variety of your food, remember there are starving people in the world.

Before you yell at your partner, think of how lonely some people feel as they go to sleep in an empty bed.

Before you complain about the state of things today, think about all the people who never got to see this day.

Before you get upset because the house is messy, remember that there are people who don’t have a roof over their head.

Before you let traffic and long commutes irritate you, think about how fortunate you are to have a job and a car.

Before you point an accusing finger at someone, remember that you’re not perfect, and you make mistakes too.

And the most important rule of them all:
Before you let a depressing thought ruin your mood, put a smile on your face and be thankful you’re alive!

In addition to above rules don't forget, every day, to look in five different directions:
Forwards – To know where you’re going and plan ahead.
Backwards – To remember where you came from and avoid past mistakes.
Down – To make sure you don’t step on others or ruin things along the way.
Sideways – To see who is there to support you, and who needs your help.
Up – To remind yourself that there’s someone who’s watching over you.

Send this message to all your friends, and remind them how easy it is to be happy and enjoy life.

The truth of life

One day, during an evening class for adults, the psychology Teacher entered the class and told students, “Let’s all play a game!” “What Game?” The Teacher asked one of the students to volunteer. A lady, Aliza came forward.

The Teacher asked her to write 30 names of most important people in her life on blackboard. Aliza wrote names of her family members, relatives, friends, her colleagues and her neighbors.

The Teacher told her to erase 3 names that Aliza considered most unimportant.
Aliza erased names of her colleagues. The Teacher again told her to delete 5 more names. Aliza erased her neighbor's names. This went on until there were just four names left on the blackboard. These were names of her mother, father, husband and the only son...

The entire class became silent realizing that this wasn’t a game anymore for Aliza alone.

Now, The Teacher told her to delete two more names. It was a very difficult choice for Aliza. She unwillingly deleted her parent’s names. “Please delete one more” said the Teacher. Aliza became very nervous and with trembling hands and tears in eyes she deleted her son’s name. Aliza cried painfully...

The Teacher told Aliza to take her seat. After a while Teacher asked "why your husband?? The parents are the ones that nurtured you, and the son is the one you gave birth to? And you can always find another husband!!!”

Everyone was curious to know her response. Breaking the total silence in the class, Aliza calmly and slowly said, “One day my parents will pass away before me.
My son may also leave me when he grows old, for his studies or business or whatever reason. The only one, who will truly share his entire life with me, is my Husband”.

All the students stood up and applauded for her for sharing this truth of life. This is true. So always value your life partner, it's not only for husbands but wives as well.
God has united these two souls and it's on you now to nurture this relationship above all.

THE 12 LAWS OF KARMA

THE GREAT LAW
As you sow, so shall you reap.
This is also known as the Law of Cause and Effect.
Whatever we put out in the Universe
is what comes back to us.
If what we want is Happiness, Peace, Friendship, Love…
Then we should BE Happy, Peaceful, Loving, a Friend.

THE LAW OF CREATION

Life doesn’t just HAPPEN, it requires our participation.
We are one with the Universe both inside and out.
Whatever surrounds us gives us clues to our inner state.
BE and DO yourself…
what you what to have in your Life.

THE LAW OF HUMILITY

What you refuse to accept, will continue for you.
If what we see is an enemy, or someone with a character trait that we find to be negative,
then we ourselves are not focused on a higher level of existence.

THE LAW OF GROWTH

Wherever you go, there you are.
For us to GROW in Spirit it is we who must change and not the people, places or things around us.
The only given we have in our lives is OURSELVES
and that is the only factor we have control over.
When we change who and what we are within our heart
our life changes too.

THE LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY

Whenever there is something wrong,
there is something wrong in me.
We mirror what surrounds us
and what surrounds us mirrors us
We must take responsibility what is in our life.

THE LAW OF CONNECTION

Even if something we do seems inconsequential,
it is very important that it gets done
as everything in the Universe is connected.
Each step leads to the next step and so forth and so on.
Someone must do the initial work to get a job done.
Neither the first step nor the last
are of greater significance
They were both needed to accomplish the task.
Past, Present, Future
They are all connected…

THE LAW OF FOCUS

You can’t think of two things at the same time.
When our focus is on Spiritual Values it is impossible for us to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger.

THE LAW OF GIVING AND HOSPITALITY

If you believe something to be true,
then sometime in your life
you will be called upon to demonstrate that truth.
Here is where we put what we SAY
that we have learned
into PRACTICE.

THE LAW OF HERE AND NOW

Looking back to examine what was,
prevents us from being totally in the HERE AND NOW.
Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams…
Prevent us from having new ones.

THE LAW OF CHANGE

History repeats itself until
we learn the lessons that we need
to change our path.

THE LAW OF PATIENCE AND REWARD

All Rewards require initial toil.
Rewards of lasting value
require patient and persistent toil.
True Joy follows doing what we’re suppose to be doing and waiting for the Reward to come in it’s on time.

THE LAW OF SIGNIFICANCE AND INSPIRATION

You get back from something whatever
you’ve put into it
The Value of something is a direct result of
the energy and intent that is put into it.
Every personal contribution
is also a contribution to the Whole
Lack luster Contributions have no impact on the Whole
or work to diminish it.
Loving Contributions Lift Up and Inspire the Whole

Self-confidence Vs Ego

There is a line dividing confidence and ego.

Most of the time we get confused and fall to decidewhether we are on the right track or our ego is dominating in the appearance of confidence.

When ego dominates, every success turns into failure.

One has to be very careful about it.
How to distinguish between confidence and the ego?

Here are some points to clarify this doubt.

a) A man of confidence says that he can do the
work and others also can do it,whereas a man of
ego says that he alone can do it and nobody else
can.

b) A man of confidence always tries to encourage
and help others in building their confidence,
whereas a man of ego tries to curb and discourage
others when they try to come up in life.

c) A man of confidence always attracts people.
Even the weak feel confident and elevated in his
presence and get inspiration in his company.
Whereas an egoistic person creates repulsion in the
minds of people who try to avoid him because of
his boastful nature.

d) A man of confidence appreciates the success
of others and shares his happiness with others.
Whereas a man of ego discourages and humiliates
others and feels jealous of the success of others.

e) There is joy in working with people of confidence because they are always cheerful and can mix freely with everybody.

In the presence of egoistic people even the men of confidence feel an inferiority complex. They feel nervous to work with them.

f) A man of confidence always commands love and respect, whereas a man of ego always demands and expects love and respect.

g) Confident people are always successful in every field of life because they can conquer the hearts of all by putting their faith and confidence in others and receive all help and cooperation from colleagues and friends.

A man of ego always suffers setbacks and failures losing men and power because of his arrogant approach which adds only to his worries and tension.

h) In one word, a man of Self- confidence puts his faith in the innermost Divine Self, the source of all power and energy, and also feels the presence of the Divine in everyone while dealing with them, whereas the egocentric person puts his faith only in his mental and intellectual abilities and skills, forgetting the Divine which operates through mind and intellect our of his ignorance. He applies the same standards white dealing with others. He is only aware of weaknesses and drawbacks of others and never realizes that the perfect Divine is hidden behind these superficial appearances, and that can be awakened by constant training and positive approach.
